Invasion of Cyprus

Turkey Rebels have taken control of the Greek Areas to of Cyprus in a massive invasion from Sodap Beach, all the way into Lapithiou with very little resistance from local military as it was sudden and completely without warning. United States President John Smith has stated that a press conference on the activity will be scheduled for 3:30PM Eastern Time at the White House. At the time, it is unclear what NATO’s response is going to be to the invasion and more news will come in the following hours. 

Unconfirmed sources have stated that the US Navy has diverted to the region as the 7th Carrier Air Wing assigned to the USS George H.W. Bush was nearby conducting a training exercise with the 389th Fighter Squadron.

Fubars - Hello, Ms. S’nafu, you’re on the line with us. Please tell us about the recent events as they’ve transpired at the airbase. 

S’nafu - As you well know, information at this moment in time is limited but the the airbase here as well as the military base as a whole at my location has seen some major activations as far as personnel and sightings in the sky go. In the past hour, we’ve seen transport aircraft coming in along with what appears to be Military Aircraft with United States tail-markings as well as F-16’s with all-black paint and either no markings, or markings too small to read. Other similar F-16’s known to all as the “Falcon Fighters” under the Israeli markings have been seen more prevalently in the skies over Israel since the early morning. From a distance here, we’ve seen more defenses in the form of what is most likely anti aircraft guns and missile equipment being set up as well.

Fubars - What about naval shipping? 

S’nafu - As I said, my information here is limited but I don’t have any sources currently at the ports to tell me what is happening but it wouldn’t be too surprising to find out that military naval activity is matching what we see here at the base.
